SD UpSkill: Spring Semester Courses for Dislocated Workers
Posted on December 03, 2020
SD UpSkill, a program to help individuals get back on their career paths and return to work, is accepting applications for Spring semester course offerings at Lake Area Technical College and Western Dakota Technical College.
UpSkill can assist individuals who have been dislocated from their jobs due to COVID-19 by providing full tuition assistance for eight certificate programs in high-demand fields, including agriculture, business, health care, and information technology. This grant funding may be available to you if you are eligible for reemployment assistance and have lost your job through no fault of your own or were self-employed and now are unemployed due to COVID-19.
These credentials can open the door to a new career path or advancement in your current field. If you have been dislocated due to COVID-19 and believe a new credential could benefit you, don’t hesitate to check out the certificates available:
- Lake Area Tech: Agriculture, Community Healthcare Worker, Human Resources, Marketing, Medical Coding, and Programming
- Western Dakota Tech: EMT/Pre-paramedic and Phlebotomy
Courses are 100% online, so you will need access to a reliable internet connection.
Programs begin in January 2021 and spots are limited. To apply, visit SDUpSkill.com. The application deadline is Dec. 11, 2020.
