Career Information You Can Trust

You have hundreds of South Dakota career choices open to you. How do you know where to start? Can you trust what you find? The Labor Market Information Center (LMIC) not only gathers and provides unbiased and reliable state workforce stats, but also develops career materials you can count on. Check out these Career Exploration and Planning resources to explore your career options and make informed career decisions:

• Take the South Dakota Career Interest Survey (SDCIS). If you have no careers in mind, it will steer you toward broad areas of interest. If you already have some ideas, but not a definite career plan, it will help refine your options.

• Use the virtual labor market data system to learn more about occupations. Explore occupations based on results of your SDCIS. Or explore within a Career Cluster. You can also research apprenticeship career opportunities.

• Don’t know where to begin on the career decision making journey? Career Destinations breaks it down into simpler steps. It also suggests resources to use along the way.

Need more input on occupations you’re considering? This bookmark lists additional reputable and safe sites for learning about career options. Or follow links on the LMIC website for more Online Tools.
